For parents, professionals, and caregivers of children with autistic spectrum disorders or developmental delays in communication, behavior, and social skills. The events for the group's meetings with professional speakers are listed to the right. For more autism-related events, please click on Events above and type "autism" in the search field. This will list all autism-related events on the calendar, both PHP and community events. The "informal meetings" listed below are usually not listed on the calendar.

MONTHLY MEETINGS WITH PROFESSIONALS SPEAKING on a variety of topics. These meetings are usually on the third Thursday of the month.   Meetings take place at a number of locations such as PHP in Santa Clara and Roche Bioscience in Palo Alto. INFORMAL MEETINGS (not affliated with PHP): Parents also meet informally in a variety of locations in the Bay Area to talk about a variety of issues & concerns, share information and provide support. New parents are always welcome.These meetings are an opportunity for parents to meet informally and to share ideas, experiences and information. New families and caregivers are always welcome. Those who wish to share or simply listen are invited to attend.

AUTISM PARENT CLUB OF SAN BENITO COUNTY (APC):
APC, a special interest group of Parents Helping Parents, is a non-profit organization of parents, educators, and other professionals dedicated to providing world-class education, advocacy, and support for children with autism in San Benito County.  They meet on the third Thursday of every month at Fire Station #2 on the corner of Union Road and Airplane Highway.  Please contact Marcella for more information-831-637-3071.


ASD (AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDERS) BIOMEDICAL DISCUSSION GROUP
Meets second Wednesday of every month, 7-9:30pm at Parents Helping Parents, 3041 Olcott Street, Santa Clara, CA 95014. Click on "Directions" in the upper right hand corner for accurate directions to PHP.

This support group is for parents interested in exploring bio-medical treatments for autism spectrum disorders, including PDD and Aspergers. The parents in our group have a wide range of experience dealing with some of the underlying physical problems associated with ASD, from digestive and neurological problems to special diets and nutritional supplementation. Topics of discussion can include: how and why dietary interventions work, testing, finding the right health care, the biochemistry of autism, new treatments, how to get started, underlying immune issues, allergies, chelation. We also feature special speakers throughout year.
