Are you looking for a group where you can gain knowledge, training and skills to be an effective educational advocate for your child or children?
- Do you feel the need for a place to meet other parents whose children are eligible for special education?
Join this group and you will explore different aspects of advocating for your child's appropriate educational supports and services.
Parents have expressed a need for a training & support group that helps teach effective advocacy skills. This workshop is somewhat different from more traditional trainings offered. We will be more interactive. Discussion will be encouraged during the workshop. Sharing afterwards will also be encouraged.
Learning to effectively and collaboratively advocate for a child with special learning needs is not an easy task for most parents. Bring your own personal special education issues or successes to share with other group members. After the workshop you're welcome to stay from 9-10pm this evening to connect with other parents in your district and community.
