• Learn more about disabilities and the services that people with disabilities receive; and

Who attends SibShops? SibShops are for 8 to 12 year old brothers and sisters of children who have special needs.

Who sponsors SibShops? SibShops are one of the many support groups offered by Parents Helping Parents.

Who facilitates SibShops? SibShops are run by PHP staff and volunteers. This year, SibShops are facilitated by Leslie Vasquez, Health Related Services and Volunteer Coordinator at Parents Helping Parents. Leslie is the parent of two daughters, one with special health care needs. She grew up as the sister of a brother with multiple disabilities. Leslie, who has a Masters degree in Counseling, has served as a PHP Support Group Facilitator, Mentor Parent, and Board Member. She has been employed by PHP for over seven years.

What are SibShops? SibShops are a lively mixture of games, discussion, crafts and guest speakers. Participants should dress comfortably. We also provide lunch!

When and where are SibShops? Please check the PHP events Calendar for upcoming events. SibShops are held on the second Saturday of every other month - (January, March, May, September, November) from 10:00 to 1:30 pm.

Each SibShop will be held at Parents Helping Parents, 3041 Olcott Street in Santa Clara. A donation of $10 to cover the cost of lunch and supplies at each SibShop is appreciated.
